Offers in-person crisis intervention, emergency counseling, grief work and referral. Psychiatric medications are not prescribed or dispensed through the Emergency Department. Valley Medical Center DOES NOT have a psychiatric unit.

Patient must first be admitted to the Valley Medical Center Emergency Room. There is an additional charge for psychiatric evaluations.
Eligibility
Patients must be admitted by the Emergency Department. Situations appropriate for ERIT involvement are - Suicide attempt or ideation - Substance abuse or overdose - Family altercations - Domestic violence - Psychotic, manic or bizarre behavior - Sexual assault - Child abuse.
