Civil Arbitration Program offered by King County Superior Court's Civil Department
Coordinates civil arbitration program. All civil and non-domestic cases involving claims of $100,000 or less are eligible for the Superior Court Civil Arbitration Program including property or personal injury, motor vehicle torts, contract disputes, breach of warranty, collection, real estate, and other related conflicts. If a party does not accept the arbitrator's decision, they may request a trial before the Superior Court. Interpreters are available and can be requested through the Superior Court Interpreter Webpage.

Application process
To initiate arbitration, the plaintiff must first file suit in Superior Court. The plaintiff then files a Statement of Arbitrability according to the case schedule, when all affirmative pleadings (answers) have been filed with the court.
Fee
$250 is the fee for arbitration. If a party does not accept the arbitrator's decision, they may pay a $400 fee and request a trial before the Superior Court.
Eligibility
Must be a civil case that involve money disputes up to $100,000 exclusive of attorney fees, interest, costs and other relief.

Handles all "general civil" cases in Superior Court. A general civil case begins when an individual or organization initiates a lawsuit against another individual or organization. Breach of contract, personal injury, and medical malpractice disputes are examples of this type of case.
