Club House offered by TOGETHER!

Operates an out-of-school time program at three NTPS school sites before school, after school, and during the summer. Engages in a variety of activities designed to improve both academic and social skills. Workshops focus on STEM, life skills, and critical thinking. Additionally, youth explore their cultures, languages, and identities through the A.R.B.O.L. curriculum. Offers a dedicated Family Liaison who works closely with families and students to ensure they have all the resources and support they need to succeed in school. This includes assistance with communication, community resources, and support in areas such as rent assistance, utility bill help, and other essential needs. The Family Liaison plays a crucial role in ensuring families have access to what they need to help their children succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Removing barriers by providing accessible, local resources to advance the health, education, and overall well-being of students and their families. Our four core programs below: Club House - free, before- and- after-school and summer programs featuring project-based learning and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) activities, & bilingual programming in Spanish & English offered Sept.–June & in a summer intensive. 2024-25 sites: Pleasant Glade Elementary, Chinook & Nisqually Middle Schools. Community Schools - This systemic approach to leveraging community resources provides wrap-around supports to K-12 students and families enhances student & parent engagement, improves attendance, reduces dropout, & improves graduation rates among all students including students and families disproportionately impacted by systemic barriers. Community Schools Case Managers are place-based in Community Resource Centers within most Tumwater schools plus our homelessness prevention/rapid rehousing rental assistance is offered district wide. Expanding Your Horizons - A Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math (STEAM) Conference to advance educational equity and increase access to representation and information about STEAM career-connected learning for girls and trans and non-binary youth of all genders, including and especially youth who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) in middle school. This conference is held annually each spring at South Puget Sound Community College. For more information, please visit https://www.thurstoneyh.org/ Host Homes - A proven approach to providing safe, short-term housing for high school students experiencing housing instability by pairing community-based housing with youth-driven case management and wraparound supports to intervene before youth experience chronic houselessness; helps students pursue educational goals, develop & strengthen life skills; and bridge gaps to stable independent housing.
