Prohibits discrimination by private parties when contracting in unincorporated King County and by King County government in its own contracting because of a person's race, color, age, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, religion, ancestry, national origin or disability.

Eligibility

Any person alleging discrimination in contracting by King County government agencies, businesses operating in unincorporated King County, contracting agencies or trade associations, bonding companies and contractors.

King County Office of Equity and Racial and Social Justice

Investigates and resolves complaints regarding alleged discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations and contracting occurring in unincorporated King County or against King County as an employer. Also investigates alleged discrimination in agencies and companies under contract with the King County government and ensures disability access to county government services, programs and facilities for people with disabilities. When possible, KCCR resolves complaints through mediated settlement.
