Advises the mayor, city council, and city departments on issues that impact women in Seattle.   Recommends policy and legislation. Acts as a liaison between the women of Seattle and city government.   Promotes programs that ensure social, legal and economic equality for women.   Identifies issues and advocates for equal participation for all women.

Monitors and advocates laws, policies, and programs that promote race and social justice. Promotes programs that ensure social, legal and economic equality for people with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ+ community and enforces the City of Seattle's four Labor Standards ordinances.
