AARP Tax Assistance Appointment offered at Sumner Senior Center
Offers free tax preparation assistance and e-file for residents of Pierce County who are in low and moderate income households. Special attention is paid to adults 60 and older. Does not provide assistance with business taxes (but will do Schedule C-EZ's and some Schedule C's for those who are self-employed). E-filing available. Scroll down for important documentation to bring. Taxes are prepared by volunteers that have passed the IRS Training.

Application process
Most locations are by appointment only. Call or drop-in to the location to schedule an appointment. Please note that phone lines for sites are operated by volunteers and it may take several tries to reach someone or get a return call after leaving a voicemail.

No cost.
Eligibility
Pierce County residents, no income guidelines apply. No returns that are married, filing separately. No business returns and self-employment with expenses more than $35,000 No hobby income. No rental income except for land-only and home for less than 15 days. No capital gains or losses from futures or options. No farm income. No tax on a child's investments. No virtual currency investments or transactions.
