Dental Hygiene Clinic offered at Shoreline Community College

Supervised students provide: -  Head and neck exam -  Medical history -  Blood pressure check -  Oral exam -  Fluoride treatments -  Cleaning and polishing -  X-rays -  Oral cancer screening -  Sealants   -  Oral hygiene instruction   Complete dental care takes at least two appointments that are three hours each. First appointment is examination only (except for children), and includes exam and diagnosis by dentist.   Patients needing fillings may be referred to the restorative clinic, where a dentist prepares teeth and a hygiene student does the filling.    Cannot do the following:   -  Root canal -  Orthodontic or surgical work -  Bridges -  Gold work -  Dentures -  Dental emergencies

Eligibility

Must be age four or older for cleaning.   Supervising dentist reserves the right to refer treatment that cannot be completed in the clinic, or to refer patients whose cases are not appropriate for teaching instruction.

Fee

Flat rate.   $5 discount for seniors ages 65 and older. Payment of fees required at the time service is rendered.
