Virtual Care Clinic offered at Virginia Mason Medical Center
Virtual Care Clinic offered at Virginia Mason Medical Center
Provides treatment via web camera or phone for a variety of minor illnesses such as cold, sinus infection, bladder infection, pink eye, rash and dizziness. Virtual visits should not replace a relationship with a primary care provider. It is not intended to deliver continuity care nor should it be used for prescription refills. Commonly prescribed medications include antibiotics when indicated, allergy medications, anti-nausea medications, and various skin creams or ointments. Does not prescribe narcotic medications, anti-anxiety medications or anti-depressant medications. Visits typically last about 20 minutes. Virginia Mason may have access to medical records from your regular provider in order to reference your medical history. If you have visited Virginia Mason Virtual Care Clinic previously, our providers can view the records for these visits. Also, if you provide the name and phone number of your regular doctor or clinic, we will send a copy of your visit summary to them. If you do not wish to establish a relationship with a Virginia Mason Primary Care Provider and/or are not referred onto in-person care, your virtual clinic visit summary will not be sent to Virginia Mason. You will always be able to access your personalized visit summary on your secure virtual care account at any time; however, the visit summary is not available through Virginia Mason's patient portal. At the beginning of the virtual visit, the provider determines whether the health concern is appropriate for virtual care. A visit that does not result in a diagnosis or prescription is not considered cause for a refund.
