Provides critical home repairs to income qualified households to help preserve homeownership in Thurston County. Repairs are provided by construction staff and volunteers. Offers with help with repairs like: - Steps, porch, or wheelchair ramp construction, - Walkways, - Window repair or replacement, - Exterior door repair or replacement, - Exterior scraping, caulking, and painting, - Extensive siding and trim repair or replacement, - Interior accessibility such as doorways and bathrooms, - Other repairs on a case-by-case basis.

Apply online or call/email for more information. Next, there will be a financial review and home assessment. After contract/payment arrangements are made, the construction may begin along with volunteering.
Fee
There is a repayment component. Repair costs are subsidized by grant funding, so they are a lower cost. Offers no interest payment plans with affordable monthly payments.
Eligibility
Applicants must: - Own (mortgage okay) and reside in a home in Thurston County, - Have an income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), - Need improved housing (the home is effecting health, safety, or financial well-being, - be unable to afford and/or perform the repairs themselves but are willing to contribute a percentage of the repair costs, - be willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity (be honest, submit needed documents, provide sweat equity if needed), - understand that repairs may be completed by staff, volunteers and staff/community members from other organizations.

South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Founded in 1989, SPS Habitat helps low income families achieve their dream of homeownership. SPS Habitat operates two Habitat Stores in Thurston County that sell reusable building materials, tools, furniture, appliances and more at greatly discounted prices to the public to raise funds for our homebuilding program. To date SPS Habitat has built over 57 affordable homes in Thurston County.
