Housing Justice Project offered at Sound Legal Aid

Free legal advice and representation for low-income households in unlawful detainer (eviction) proceedings in Thurston County. The Housing Justice Project legal advice clinic begins at 8:30am every Friday at the Thurston County Courthouse, Building 2. Clients on the Unlawful Detainer docket (eviction court hearing) must also arrive at 8:30am.

Eligibility

Those at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Only Thurston County residents are represented in court. Provides free legal advice for civil issues for Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, Pacific and Lewis Counties. We serve those with income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Because of COVID restrictions, we are having advice clinics by telephone. Our attorneys provide advice in the following areas: family law, housing, employment, consumer debt, wills and estates, and contracts. We occasionally (rarely) provide legal representation. NEW AND URGENT: We are available to advise those who are being evicted or worrying about being evicted.
