Worker Retraining offered by Seattle Central College
Provides retraining opportunities for laid off, unemployed and dislocated workers. Program is a partnership between community and technical colleges and the state Employment Security Department to provide job training to eligible members of Washington’s workforce. Many professional and technical programs are eligible to be pursued through the Worker Retraining program. Some of the benefits available to eligible persons are: - Tuition assistance - Course-required books and supplies - Assistance with TAA and NAFTA paperwork - Career planning services

Eligibility
Worker Retraining participants must be receiving unemployment benefits or be eligible for benefits. Exceptions include: - Participants who may have exhausted their unemployment benefits within the past two years and still be unemployed - Participants who have received a written notice of future layoff from their employer and will be eligible for unemployment benefits - Veterans who were honorably discharged within the last four years. General public is eligible for services including job listings and on-campus Washington State Employment Security representatives.

Provides comprehensive post-secondary education programs, as well as ESL classes, GED classes, Adult Basic Education classes. Also offers three four-year degrees: Bachelor of Applied Science in Allied Health, Applied Behavioral Science and IT Networking.
