Educational Advocacy offered at Treehouse
Connects schools, social workers, foster families and children in foster care to help them obtain the intervention, testing or remediation services the children need to boost their chances for academic and social success. Advocates work with schools, social workers, caregivers and youth in foster care to help resolve difficult issues and remove barriers to school success. Helps students access education-related support services in order for a smooth transition during school change and minimize the effects of school discipline that keeps them out of school. Program operates out of DCFS offices throughout the state.

Eligibility
Children who have an open case file with Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Children in foster care, relative placement, group home, or living in a family under DCFS supervision. Child must be referred by a DCFS caseworker, CASA, or attorney representing youth.

Treehouse
Provides the academic and other essential support and enrichment services to kids in foster care, that are needed to help them graduate from high school at the same rate as their peers, with a plan for their future. The Treehouse Store provides clothing, toys, books, school supplies, and other items for children living in out-of-home care. Just-in-Time Funding provides scholarships which allow children in foster care to participate in enrichment activities, such as athletics, music, art and summer camps.
