Animal Control and Shelter offered by Regional Animal Services of King County

Enforces King County animal control ordinances. Maintains a list of missing and found pets. Provides animal rescue service 24 hours daily, as well as shelter, adoption and recovery services. Answers complaints regarding stray or vicious dogs, dead animals, etc. Receives licensed and unlicensed stray animals.

Phone: M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm. Shelter: M-F, noon-6pm Sa Su, noon-5pm. Non-emergency animal control: Daily, 7:30am-6:30pm. Public safety emergency response: 24 hours daily.

Fee

Recovery services: Owners must pay a redemption fee. Removal services: Charges for pickup of owned animals. Picks up depending on space available. Adoption: Fees vary based on age of animal and species. No charge for most animals loose on public property.

Eligibility

All of King County except within city limits of Bothell, Des Moines, Federal Way, Kenmore, Kirkland, Lake Forest Park, Normandy Park, Renton, Seattle, Shoreline and Woodinville. Residents in the city of Federal Way should contact The Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County for animal services. Residents of Kirkland should contact Everett Animal Services for shelter services. Residents in the following cities should contact PAWS for shelter services: - Bothell - Kenmore - Lake Forest Park - Shoreline - Woodinville
