Domestic Violence Family Law Clinic offered at Eastside Legal Assistance Program

ELAP provides free 1-hour appointments with a family law attorney for advice and consultation on family law legal issues involving domestic violence. Attorney volunteers are not able to provide full representation or represent clients in court.

Application process

Call ELAP directly; NO drop-ins are accepted. For Spanish only, call 425-620-2778.   An interpreter service is available by phone for clients who do not speak English.

Eligibility

All King County domestic violence survivors whose household income is at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level. Clients in other counties fleeing domestic violence in King County may also be eligible.   Household size should include the following: -  Client who called (if a fax is sent, this is who was named in the referral) -  Client's spouse or partner (unless that person is an opposing party) -  Client's custodial dependent children (who live at least half the time in the home)   Household income should include all sources of income the client controls or has access to, prior to any garnishment or taxation.

Eastside Legal Assistance Program

Provides free legal assistance and information to low-income people living in East, Northeast and Southeast King County and to low-income domestic violence survivors living throughout King County. Provides specialized legal services for domestic violence survivors, and offers legal clinics covering adult guardianship, DV/family law, elder law, immigration, and general law. Wills Clinic operates quarterly.
