Community Service Hours offered at Toy Rescue Mission
Provides an opportunity to complete community service hours for those who are required through school, court or state agency. Also provides opportunities for those who want to donate their time. Allows volunteers to utilize their creative skills to produce an end result that will put a smile on a child's face. Volunteers can commit to from 1 to 20 hours weekly.

Call for more information. A background check is conducted on all volunteers at no cost to the volunteer.
Eligibility
Those between the ages of 16 and 99 who need or wish to volunteer. Those younger than 16 need a parent or job coach present.

Toy Rescue Mission
The TRM is involved in restoring new "life" to "previously loved" toys. After being refurbished, the toys are then donated to needy children throughout Pierce County. Also serves those in battered women's shelters and other social service agencies. Primary services are Birthday Gifts, Easter Baskets, Back to School and Christmas Gifts. Each program has a specific age that are served: - Birthdays are ages 1-15 - Easter is ages 1-12 - Back to School is elementary and middle school grades and - Christmas is birth to 15. Parents MUST possess: - current, valid WA ID, - a Provider One card for each child needing services, - as well as a current medical card. Alternate ID such as DSHS Award letters, WIC packets, Section 8 Award letters, SSI or other such documents may be accepted. Parents are served for 2 consecutive years, only, before being asked to seek other alternatives for one year. Parents that wish to receive services a 3rd year can inquire about the Volunteer Time program. All clients may not qualify for this program. Successful applicants must pass a background check. Volunteers are welcome from age 16 to 99.
