Tobacco/Vape and Youth Marijuana Prevention and Education Program offered at El Centro de la Raza

Addresses the threats of commercial tobacco and vaping use to raise awareness about the harmful and life-threatening effects of tobacco, exposure to secondhand smoke and the impact of vaping among youth and young adults in the Latino community. Promotes and refers information to prevent youth from starting to use marijuana. Educates Latino parents, care givers and other influential adult engagement in youth marijuana prevention.

Multiservice center offers ESL classes, foreclosure counseling and a legal clinic as well as outreach, advocacy and assistance for veterans. Also operates a congregate meal for older adults, a food pantry, a bilingual child care/preschool program, maternal health and early perinatal care, and a before- and after-school program with homework help and tutoring. Some services focus on serving the Latino community or Beacon Hill residents. Provides case management to high-risk youth to increase school involvement and prevent violence and criminal activity.
