When vision loss makes your daily life difficult, DSB is here to help. DSB's Independent Living Program can empower you to live independently in your home and community. The Independent Living Program is free for anyone who qualifies. We match you with a local provider that can help you meet your goals of becoming independent.

Transportation

The DSB office in Yakima, WA is located in the Fieldstone Office Complex on the west side of 40th Avenue about half a block south of the intersection of Englewood and 40th Avenues. The driveway leading to our office building is marked by two large signs: One reads “Fieldstone”, the other one “Family Vision Care”.

Eligibility

You may qualify for the Independent Living Program if you are at least 24 years old or older and have vision loss or blindness impacting your ability to live independently in your home. The Independent Living Program is for people who are not employed, seeking employment, in school, or planning to go to school.
