Team HomeBuilding offered at Housing Hope

Offers an opportunity for low-income households to become homeowners.  This includes families, single parents, and individuals. Groups of 5-10 households work each week until a home is completed for each family in the group.  Work is done under the direction of a construction supervisor provided by Housing Hope.

Fee

Sweat equity is done in place of a down payment. House payments may be subsidized for qualifying households.

Eligibility

Must have: An ongoing source of income that can be documented; A two year work history; A combined household gross income (before taxes) of at least $3,500 per month; Low monthly credit card/loan debt obligations; Must be able to assist in the building of your new home as part of a team; A credit score of 640 or above AND be ready to work on any credit issues; You are a United States citizen or permanent resident. Housing Hope can also work with households to create a personal action plan to become qualified.

Housing Hope

Provides emergency shelter and permanent supportive housing. Families residing in shelters and homeless housing units receive case management, advocacy, referral, access to emergency food/clothing.  Also offers a home ownership program for low-income persons, apartments for low-income & disabled individuals, & a child care center for homeless children. Also offers a job development and education program.
