Early Head Start offered at Educational Opportunities for Children and Families

Early Head Start services promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of infants and toddlers by providing educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families, including developmental screenings. Services for parents include home visits, parenting classes, parent support and networking. Full day/full year center-based or home-based models are available.

Eligibility

Pregnant individuals and families with infants and children ages 0-3. Families with incomes at or below 100% FPL are eligible. Children in foster care, homeless children, and children from families receiving public assistance (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), SNAP or Supplemental Security Income (SSI)) are eligible regardless of income. Families with higher incomes and specific needs, may also be eligible. Families with higher needs are prioritized.

Fee

Full-day child care services requires a state subsidy or out of pocket payment. Part-day services are at no cost to eligible families.

Educational Opportunities for Children and Families

Sponsors Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), serving children ages 0-5 and pregnant women. In addition to early childhood education, families receive social services designed to support their individual strengths and needs. Also sponsors HotShots Youth Sports Program.
