Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) helps people find the right attorney to hire that can help with their particular legal issue. Referrals are to paid attorneys only; LRS is not a pro bono service. LRS has attorney members in most areas of law. Translation services available.

Call (206) 267-7010, email [email protected], or complete the online request form at https://www.kcba.org/?pg=Hire-a-Lawyer. CANNOT VISIT IN PERSON. An intake specialist will assess the needs of the potential client and then refer to an appropriate lawyer or a different program, if needed.
Fee
There is no cost for the referral, but all LRS attorneys will charge regular attorney fees. The attorney and client will determine the fee arrangement between them; LRS is not involved in the setting of attorney fees.
Eligibility
Service is only for clients who can hire a regular fee lawyer. LRS is not a pro bono legal service. LRS reserves the right not to provide a referral if you do not have a viable case, you are not seeking a paid attorney, and/or we do not have an attorney who practices in the appropriate area of law for your legal issue.

KCBA Pro Bono Services provides free legal services to eligible clients with various civil legal issues. Free limited legal advice is available through volunteers with our Neighborhood Legal Clinics. Other programs focus on specific legal issues including tenant representation with evictions (Housing Justice Project), vacating criminal records (Records Project), kinship care/minor guardianships (LAARK and Kinship Care Solutions), uncontested family law (Self Help Plus), and domestic violence/family law (DV LEAD).
