Family Support Worker Program offered by Seattle Public Schools No. 1

Provides case management, support, and access to social services, increases parental involvement in their children's education and improves the academic achievement of at-risk students. Activities to accomplish the program goals vary from school to school, including parent education, family focused interventions, crisis support and referral to appropriate social service agencies. Family support workers assist low-income families with referrals to medical and dental services.   Program available on-site at many elementary schools in Seattle Public Schools.   However, since not all schools have an on-site worker, Family Support Workers serve the remaining schools on an as needed basis.

Hours

M-F, 8am-4:30pm. Service may be provided on evenings and weekends.

Call the student's elementary school or the Family Support Worker Program.

Eligibility

All Seattle School District elementary students and families, focusing on children currently struggling to -  Attend school every day of the school year -  Complete homework on time -  Not be suspended or expelled due to behavior -  Stay in one school for the whole school year

Administers the Seattle Public Schools District Office and is the central contact office for all Seattle Public Schools. Maintains information on programs and locations. Educational services are offered through elementary, middle, and high schools. Gifted, alternative, special education and Individual Education Plan (IEP) services are offered to students.
