Household Hazardous Waste Disposal offered by Hazardous Waste Management Program 's Auburn Wastemobile

Household hazardous wastes are accepted at four fixed collection sites in Seattle and King County.   The traveling Wastemobile provides household hazardous waste collection services within many communities in King County. See website for schedule. The Home Collection assistance program picks up hazardous waste for residents unable to transport their household hazardous waste to one of the collection sites because of age or disability.    The following limits apply at all the household hazardous waste facilities and the Wastemobile: -  No latex paint -  Gasoline: 30 gallons (25 gallon limit for businesses) -  Fluorescent tubes or bulbs: limit 10 - Container size : no larger than five gallons -  Automotive batteries: limit 5 -  Marine flares: limit 10 (once our flare container is full, no more flares may be accepted until the container is emptied) -  Total waste: 50 gallons per customer per day (25 gallon limit for businesses)

Application process

Visit any drop-off location.   Home Collection Program: contact the Household Hazards Line   You will be asked: -  Name, address and telephone number. -  Types and amounts of waste you have for collection.   A collection date will be scheduled, usually W between 9am-3pm.

None.

Eligibility

No restrictions for households.   Businesses must: -  Produce less than 220 lbs. of hazardous waste per month OR -  Produce less than 2. 2 lbs. of acutely hazardous waste per month, AND -  Store less than 2,200 lbs. of hazardous waste Businesses can visit up to four times a year.   Home Collection Program King County residents ages 65 or older and residents with disabilities Home collection staff does not collect other special wastes such as latex paint, tires, electronics or medications.
