Autopsies offered by Public Health - Seattle & King County's Medical Examiner

Conducts autopsies when indicated such as after a sudden, unexpected or unnatural death. Provides requested copies of autopsy and investigator reports to family members of the deceased. If toxicology testing is performed, the toxicology report is supplemental to the autopsy report.

Autopsy report: $50.   Investigator report: $20.

Eligibility

Must be a family member of the deceased to obtain a report.

Administers the indigent disposition program, which provides cremation funds for deceased persons, if next of kin cannot be found or if person and immediate family have no assets.
