Supports pregnant and parenting mothers with alcohol and/or drug use disorders that impede their ability to care for their children and live healthy functioning lives. Helps build and maintain healthy, independent family lives. Assures that children are in a safe and stable homes. Prevents future births of alcohol/drug exposed children. Thurston County is the 12th county in WA state to adopt this case management model.

Family Education and Support Services
Family Education and Support Services is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit agency dedicated to inspire healthy child development through the provision of Family Stengthening Services. Our strategies include targeting adults who have the greatest influence over the health and well-being of children. Last year we serveed over 8,500 individuals through our prevention, intervention, and community enrichment services. We serve indivduals, Families and Communinities thorugh evidence based training, support case managment, concrete supports, home visitation services and more. Parenting classes cover such topics as Discipline and Guidance, Domestic Violence, Divorce and Separation, Kinship Care, Parenting and Fathering. We collaborate with schools to provide mainstream parenting classes such as "Winning At Parenting." We are contracted providers for such programs as "MRT Parenting and Family Values," "Impact of Domestic Violence on Children," "Consider the Children," "Kinship," "Parent Child Assistance Program," and "Dynamic Dads" programs. We coordinate a financial assistance program for Kinship or relative caregivers called "Kinship Caregiver Support Program" and a weekly support group for caregivers in Thurston, and monthly groups in Mason and Lewis counties. We also collaborate with the Hands on Children's Museum to provide a support group for foster parents called "Lifeline." and for Kinship CAregovers every Tuesday evening. In addition we offer a variety of continuing education programs for pre-school teachers, parents, foster parents, Kinship families and other early childhood professionals who work with children.
