Hospice Services offered at Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC) provides support and nursing care for persons in the last phases of illness or incurable disease so that they might live as fully and comfortably as possible. Hospice works to maximize services by coordinating and complimenting existing community services. No fee is charged for any of the services provided by Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County and its volunteers. Current services include: 1) Supportive nursing care for people who are terminally ill and to their families either directly or on a consulting basis. This includes assisting terminally ill persons and their families to deal with the multiple problems which accompany terminal illness while keeping intact the dignity, integrity and personal choices of the terminally ill person. 2) Providing available equipment and supplies that are needed for home care. 3) 24-hour availability of registered nurses, emphasizing symptom and pain management. 4) Providing education programs for the patient, family, friends and community, thereby promoting attitudes toward death and dying as a positive creative dimension in the continuation of life. 5) Providing follow-up care for the family during their bereavement.

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County provides physical, emotional and spiritual support to terminally ill patients and their families with free around the clock registered nursing availability and trained volunteers.VHOCC also offers community education, grief & bereavement programs, and lends medical equipment to anyone in the community. Since its inception in 1978, all services have been provided free of charge to patients and their families; VHOCC does not bill any government agency for its services.
