Investigates and evaluates complaints against King County government executive branch agencies, makes recommendations and informs citizen and agency involved of the investigation results.   Reports to the County Council. Operates independently of county government's executive branch.

Eligibility

Anyone with a complaint about King County government agencies.   Does NOT investigate complaints about King County Prosecutor or court actions or decisions, elected officials, or issues with governmental entities other than King County government executive branch agencies

Receives and investigates complaints about actions of most King County government departments and their employees. Also investigates allegations of violations of the King County Ethics code and Whistleblower Code, including retaliation allegations, filed against county employees and elected officials, except the judiciary (courts).
