Non-Emergent Medical Transportation Services offered by Protran East

Provides long-distance non-emergent medical transportation in Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, and Kittitas Counties, as well as the Lower Valley in Yakima County, for low-income, elderly, or disabled individuals who have no other means of transportation to get to a medical appointment. Protran is a long-distance provider, which requires a minimum of 50 miles, one way. Those on Medicaid, must contact People for People's Non-Emergency Medical Transportation.

Application process

Call to schedule a ride at least 5-7 business. Rides depend on availability.

Fee

Accepts private pay and certain private health insurances. Medicaid clients must call People for People's Non-Emergency Medical Transportation. Fees vary depending on distance if paying out of pocket—call for more details. Those on private insurance must pay out of pocket and collect from their insurance provider--Patron will provide an invoice for that. .

Eligibility

Does not serve Medicaid recipients. Assists low-income, elderly, or disabled individuals who have no other means of transportation; except those that are wheelchair bound. Rides must be at least 50 miles, one way. Only serves Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, and Kittitas Counties, as well as the Lower Valley in Yakima County. Cannot accommodate wheelchairs.
