Pre-College Programs offered at Green River College
Offers multiple pre-college programs. Adult Basic Education for adults who may have experienced educational gaps, missed the opportunity to develop certain skills or missed necessary steps in their education. Students may work on basic reading, writing and mathematics, career exploration and college readiness skills. ESL offers six levels of English and additional support classes. General Education Development helps students prepare for the four-part GED test. Successful completion of the four-part test (Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies) earns a GED certificate. GED certification is equivalent to a high school education and is usually accepted in place of a diploma. High School Completion provides an opportunity for students to earn a high school diploma in a college setting, substituting college classes for remaining high school requirements. College level classes may be taken to fulfill both high school and college degree requirements at the same time.

Fee
ABE/GED/ESL program tuition is about $25 per quarter. Tuition waivers are available to those who qualify.
Eligibility
Students ages 16-19 must get a Release of Student Form from their high school before they can register for these classes. ESL classes serve immigrant and refugee students.
