Library Services offered at Washington Talking Book & Braille Library

Loans talking book players and books in Braille and digital cartridge to those who are blind, visually impaired, physically disabled, learning disabled or deaf-blind.   The services are available to individuals, hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other agencies serving persons who are visually or physically disabled.   Collection includes: -  Bestsellers -  Classics -  Mysteries -  Poetry -  NW subjects and authors -  Essays -  Non-fiction -  Popular magazines   Dial-in access to on-line catalog is available.    Limited materials are available in other languages.

Application process

Call or download from website.   An applicant should complete an application to be signed by a professional (doctor, optometrist, nurse, librarian, teacher, social worker, etc. ) who is able to verify disability.

Anyone who:   -  Cannot see printed material clearly with conventional eyeglass correction -  Cannot hold a book or turn pages -  Has a learning disability
